昨晚上听了一个讲座的录音，听了足足2个半小时。励志讲座，让我对于一个本来没有啥认识的人燃起了崇敬之情。
很感叹一个人有什么能耐可以在第一分钟，第100分钟和最后一分钟都保持着相同的激情和语调。充满磁性的声音令人去咀嚼那些可能很早似乎就懂得的实际上不一定真正懂的道理。
说教也好，自以为听的多却又为啥在2个小时里每每的感动+反省？
演讲的艺术，看了不止一遍了，重新翻过，却又是别有深意。
以前我总是觉得作为一个中学生来说，有那么些资本足够可以在一些场合下秀一秀，常常觉得自己少的是卖的能力。人大一些了才懂，原来资本和销售，我都不懂。
又静静的走到门口的那个小花园里。端一杯咖啡坐下。嗯，好久没有反省了。
作不了有深度的青年学者，至少应该掌握那份感染力吧。
然后又默默的走上楼，权当锻炼身体了。

a few thoughts to topic NO.130

"How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."

Step 1.about the humanism education

They are the future of our society. That is to say, the children's behavior will determine the socialization of our world. Undoubtedly, high quality  education can help them get improvement of both their morals and faculties, but from these different kinds of education, I champion that humanism education to be the most significent. It plays a leading role on one's way to success. Humanism education teaches the students how to be a critical thinkier, how to analyze, how to read, how to present a persuasive speech. These skills, which can hardly be picked up in those practical courses, will be used in almost every professional field. The humanism education in universities provides peple with a precious chance to bone up on the great works of  history and literature, which let the students have a overview rather than focus on some details.

Step 2. today's phenomena

Howvever, in today's universities, students have more passion on those professional majors. The tradition humanism majors are being faced with a huge challenge. Most people feel whichi major he/she should choose totally dependson whether a high-paid job can be found when he/she graduates. According to a recent survey by the Economics in 2006, the three most popular majors in the United States are accounting, electronic engineering and computer science. In other word, most students are pushed by their future profit when making the decision.

Such phenomena do not take place in those elite universities,such as the Ivy League. Let me use Yale University as an example, in the last 25 years, history has always been the first popular major among the undergraduates. The next three are: English, Politics and Psychology. Richard Frank, a graduate from Yale majoring in English, says(and I paraphrase)"The literal arts can let people from the ability of analysis and originality. And that is more reliable than the knowledge taught by the Business School". Such examples are innumerable.

Step 3. reason

Considering the reasons to the situation, we should first turn to the common sense. As is known to all, the graduates from these elite universities, shuch as the Ivy League, will be the future leader in different fields. To be a creative leader, they must have an overview to the world. Their goal of going to universities is to answer Socrates' Question----"Know yourself". On the other hand, the most the students from labor class do not have such idea in their mind. To them, university is only a place which can give them professional training. Although they may not dislike Platoism, they must consider seriously whcih courses can guarantee them be competitive in the market. What's more, their parents, who support their tuition, will think it ridiculous to spend money on the literature such as  Shakespeare.
